The EMBL NMR facility comprises four spectrometers:
800 and 600 MHz (equipped with cryoprobes), 500 and 400 MHz. The
spectrometers are mainly used by four EMBL groups: the Carlomagno group
(800, 600 and 500 MHz in the SCB Unit) and the Schultz, Köhn and
Lewis groups (400 MHz). In addition, the EMBL NMR facility is also used
by external users. Specialized and qualified expertise is required for
running and maintaining the sensitive instrumentation. The facility
manager will support the in-house and outside users of the NMR
instrumentation and will be involved in their training. He/she will
works in close collaboration with the Carlomagno group and participate
in their projects. Apart from these duties, the facility manager will
also be able to develop independent research projects.
Qualifications and experience:The successful
candidate will have a Ph.D. and extensive postdoctoral experience in
biomolecular NMR spectroscopy with a strong background in both
theoretical and practical aspects. Strong organizational and
communication skills, broad scientific interests and a supportive,
service-oriented attitude along with the ability to interact with other
scientists in an international environment are essential. EMBL is an
international research organization with English as working language.
Contract:An initial contract of 3 years will be
offered to the successful candidate. This can be renewed, depending on
circumstances at the time of the review.
