A postdoctoral position is available immediately at
the City University of New York.
Description
The successful candidate will perform research to
determine structure/dynamics/function correlations in a viral
polymerase complex using NMR spectroscopy. The candidate will work
closely with one or more graduate students and will have significant
access to the NMR facilities in-house (600 MHz with a cryoprobe) and to
those at the New York Structural Biology Center (NYSBC, 500-900 MHz all
with cryoprobes). In addition, access to crystallization and screening
facilities (NYSBC) and the X4A, X4C beamlines (NSLS, Brookhaven
National Lab.) will also be available. The NYSBC is situated on the
CCNY campus a few yards from the laboratory and is the largest such
center in the United States.
Qualifications
A PhD or equivalent is required. The candidate
should possess necessary molecular biology and biochemistry skills to
clone, express, purify and biochemically/functionally characterize the
relevant proteins. Experience in biomolecular NMR spectroscopy is a
must. The candidate should also possess the necessary computer skills
expected for structural biology.
Salary
Commensurate with experience. A comprehensive
benefits package will also be provided.
