A postdoctoral position is available to study the
coupling between
membrane proteins and their lipidic environment. Our laboratory focuses
on the role of the membrane’s physicochemical properties in
facilitating the chemical reactivity of membrane enzymes. Specifically,
the project investigates the transfer of the substrate from the
membrane to the active site of human oxidosqualene cyclase, a key
protein in cholesterol biosynthesis. This project is part of a large
collaborative effort that focuses on Membrane Protein Production and
Characterization at the University of Delaware funded by the Center of
Biomedical Research Excellence (COBRE) within the National Institutes
of Health (NIH). More information can be found at: http://www.udel.edu/chem/rozovsky/group/index.html
Applicants with background in biological solid and solution state NMR
are encouraged to send their curriculum vitae and arrange for three
recommendations to be sent to: Prof. Sharon Rozovsky, Department of
Chemistry and Biochemistry, University of Delaware (e-mail: rozovsky@udel.edu).
